General Medicine Doctor: Grades we are looking are 

The grades listed here are for general medicine doctors. We have provided a brief explanation to remind everyone of the range of grades available. Also for each grade we have told you what the pay rates that Mylocum provides.

 

FY1 & FY2 – It stands for the foundation year, which is the first of your two clinical experience years after receiving your degree. The pay rates would be up to £45 per hour.

 

ST1 & ST2 – The first two years of basic speciality training, which fall under SHO as well. The pay rates would be up to £45 per hour.

SHO –  Which stands for Senior House Officer, is also referred to as a clinical fellow or a training grade. This includes both training and non-training doctors in FY2, ST1, and ST2. The pay rates would be up to £45 per hour.

ST3 to ST8 – Your remaining five years of higher specialist training, known as Specialist Registrar, are known as Middle-Grade Doctors. The pay rates would be up to £65 per hour.

 

Consultants – Is a Specialist doctor who has completed Speciality Training. The pay rates would be up to £100/hr.

Neurology deals with disorders of the nervous system which diagnose and treat diseases of the brain, blood vessels and muscles. Doctors treat patients who are suffering from strokes, Alzheimer’s disease, seizure disorders and spinal cord disorder.

 

Renal Medicine 

Renal Medicine is to take care of patients with all forms of kidney disease and to manage patients with acute kidney injury or advanced chronic kidney disease.

 

Respiratory Medicine 

To be able to diagnose and treat a wide range of diseases of the airway, lungs, linings, blood vessels, muscles and nerves which are required for breathing. 

Radiology

Doctors use x-rays, ultrasounds and other imaging tests to diagnose diseases from different parts of your body. For example, you can find signs of cancer.

Basic Qualification/Requirements for General Medicine 

Below are the qualification/requirements you will need for General Medicine:

  • A 5 – year degree in medicine, recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • A 2 – year foundation course of general training
  • A 3 – year specialist training course in general practice 
  • Have a up to date CV/Resume 
  • Right to work in the UK
